The Anthony Nolan Trust has appointed Henny Braund as its new Chief Executive. Henny joins the charity this month, succeeding Dr Steve McEwan who sadly passed away in September ’08.

Henny was previously Resources Director at Shelter, responsible for IT, HR, Planning and Project Management, Property and Facilities and until recently Finance. She brings to her role over 20 years experience of management in the voluntary sector; before joining Shelter, Henny was with the Richmond Fellowship.

Henny was the Trustee and then the Chair of the Health and Housing Charity and a Trustee of Thames Reach. She is a founding Trustee of the Small Charities Coalition.

Simon Dyson, Chairman of Trustees is very pleased to welcome Henny to the charity:

“I am absolutely delighted with Henny’s appointment as Chief Executive of The Anthony Nolan Trust, and believe that she will lead the Charity on to a very successful future. She brings with her a wealth of experience and excellent leadership skills. We are looking forward to working with Henny, who we know will be an inspirational Chief Executive, building on and developing in her own way the exemplary work Dr Steve McEwan achieved for the Charity.”

Commenting on her appointment, Henny said:

“It is a great privilege to be appointed Chief Executive of such a well-known and well-regarded charity as The Anthony Nolan Trust.I am very much looking forward to working with such a talented team of people. The charity fulfils a vital role in recruiting donors and finding matches for the many thousands of patients whose only hope of survival is a bone marrow transplant. The next few years will be very exciting as new initiatives and research promise great opportunities for the Charity, and most importantly, for the patients we’re here to help. I’m immensely proud to be leading The Anthony Nolan Trust at such a momentous time.”
