Emmerdale’s Eric Pollard, actor Chris Chittell said: “We’re all really excited about doing this – it’s going to be a fantastic day for everyone. I’m particularly looking forward to the Inflatable Assault Course! And I’m really pleased as always to be supporting the Anthony Nolan Trust – their work saves so many lives - I’m looking forward to having a lot of fun on their behalf!”

The Anthony Nolan Trust takes back lives from leukaemia by providing lifesaving donors for patients in need of a bone marrow transplant. Since 1974 they have helped to give over 5,000 children and adults a new chance of life thanks to the support of companies and individuals willing to give their help. They heavily rely on events such as this to fund their lifesaving work and encourage people to join the bone marrow register.

There has been a huge support from local companies and individuals alike for this event. Without their support The Anthony Nolan Trust wouldn’t be able to save the lives of youngsters such as six year old Georgia Cocking from Lisburn. Her mum, Debbie, explained what a life changing difference her donor made: “Georgia was only four and a half when she was diagnosed. We were absolutely devastated – I was constantly terrified that the next time she went to sleep she wouldn’t wake up. The feeling when they said they had a match for a bone marrow transplant was out of this world – we knew it was Georgia’s best chance for survival. It’s going well now – she’sregained her rosy cheeks which is great to see – I can’t put into words how brilliant it feels. Without people joining the bone marrow register Georgia might well not be here – I’d encourage everyone to join.”
